Impressions of the BMW X6 for 2008
There have been several award-winning trucks from BMW over the years, including the BMW X6 of 2008. There are two trim levels to the X6, including xDrive35i and xDrive50i. The xDrive35i version is one of the more popular options, outselling other configurations. Like in 2007 the popular 3.0 liter has made this a popular choice for sport utility buyers nationwide.
Under the Hood
The X6 xDrive35i is equipped with a BMW 3.0 liter six-cylinder engine that utilizes 24 valves. The engine is mated to a ZF 6-speed Transmission. This configuration has proven to be a successful design for BMW.
Steering control is handled through a power-steering rack-style configuration. The X6 comes equipped with power-assisted brakes, with 4-Wheel ABS support. The front brakes are disc while the rear brakes are disc. The truck uses coil front springs and coil in the rear.

The listed retail price in 2008 (MSRP) was $52,500, with a dealer invoice cost of $48,300. This price is on target the industry average price for a four-door Sport Utility.
Fuel Efficiency
The fuel system for the 2008 X6 is a Siemens MS 70 system, running on gasoline . The fuel is controlled by an electronic system and is a fuel-injected MFI design.
The X6 xDrive35i received a miles-per-gallon rating of fifteen in-city driving and twenty when it came to highway driving. Being a gas-powered non-hybrid truck, this was within normal parameters.

I’m liking Hyundai over BMW. It think it’s the difference in reliability. My first X6 worked quite well, but the second one (a xDrive35i BTW) didn’t fare so well…
