Insight Into the BMW X6 for 2008

The 2008 X6 is an important vehicle to BMW for the sport utility market segment. The xDrive50i is a member of a series of two trim levels for the X6 which include xDrive35i and xDrive50i. The X6 xDrive50i is equipped with a BMW 4.4 liter eight-cylinder engine that utilizes 32 valves. The engine is mated to a ZF 6-speed Transmission. This configuration has proven to be a successful design for BMW.

The fuel system for the 2008 X6 is a Siemens MS design, using gasoline fuel. The fuel flow is controlled by a electronic system and is a fuel-injected MFI design. The fuel capacity of the fuel tank is 22.50 gallons.

The original manufacturer suggested retail price (MSRP) was $52,500 when new, with a dealer invoice cost of $48,300. This price was in line with the industry average price for a 4-door Sport Utility.

The standard warranty period for the X6 is 48 months, or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first. There is also a warranty on the powertrain for 48 months or 50,000 miles respectively. This is standard in the sport utility market.

Fuel Efficiency

The X6 xDrive50i received a miles-per-gallon rating of fifteen in-city driving and twenty when it came to highway driving. Being a gas-powered non-hybrid truck, this was within normal parameters.
