BMW introduced the X5 xDrive30i in late 2008 to regain its grip on the Sport Utility market. There are 3 trim levels for the X5 in 2009: . With four doors and spacious seating for several adults, the all-wheel drive X5 makes a statement. There is plenty of competition in the Sport Utility market, including strong offerings from Honda.

The 2007 X5 is an important vehicle to BMW for the sport utility market segment. The 4.8i is a member of a series of two trim levels for the X5 which include 3.0si and 4.8i. The four-door truck with its all-wheel drive is positioned to aggressively fill this niche for BMW. There is strong competition from vehicles from Honda.

Over at the BMW Blog they mention the X6 Hybrid is entering cold weather trials along with the soon-to-be-introduced X1. I for one am excited about the X6 Hybrid. BMW needs a decent hybrid lineup to be competitive in the near term. An X6 Hybrid would be an excellent show piece for them to run through different car magazine tests.
