The 4.6is version is one of the more popular options, outselling other configurations. Like in 2002 the popular 4.6 liter has made this a popular choice for sport utility buyers across the country.

BMW X5

In 2002 BMW released the X5 4.6is to the truck-buying market. The X5 came in three configurations: 4.4i, 4.6is, and 3.0i. The 4.6is configuration is powered by the 4.6-liter eight-cylinder engine, which makes 21 highway miles and 15 city. The X5 competes in the Sport Utility market segment, in direct competition with Hyundai.
